School Mentor Track & University Mentor Track

For Multiple Subject, Single Subject and Education Specialist teachers

The UCLA Extension Teacher Induction–California Clear Credential program is a two-year cohort model, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support, and professional learning for newly credentialed teachers.

Two program tracks are available: the School Mentor Track, for teachers that have a site-based mentor selected and approved by their school administrator, and the University Mentor Track, where UCLA Extension will match participating teachers with a highly qualified mentor teacher.

Both program options offer:

  • Fully-online course format
  • Ability to clear multiple preliminary credentials
  • Early Completion Option (ECO)
  • BTSA Waiver

teaching is definitely a process

0:08

and it's exciting because we can learn

0:11

so much about how students learn

0:14

the technology how we can make teaching

0:17

more engaging

0:18

so as an actual classroom teacher

0:20

teaching fifth grade and a ucla course

0:22

instructor

0:23

i feel like it's this perfect marriage

0:25

where not only can i

0:26

really experience what the teachers are

0:28

going through but i'm experiencing it

0:30

myself as well so then i

0:32

i can wear two hats both the instructor

0:34

and the classroom teacher hat so i feel

0:36

like i can really deliver a powerful

0:38

experience

0:39

for the classroom teacher my hope for

0:41

candidates leaving the program

0:43

is to keep that inquiry research base

0:47

process because education is constantly

0:50

changing and we

0:51

need to collaborate with colleagues with

0:55

stakeholders

0:56

and look at what's going on in the

0:58

classroom if things are going well how

1:00

can you make them better

1:25

you
