0:16

Best part of

0:16

TMP for me is the incredible community.

0:19

It's a rich learning environment.

0:21

An incredible opportunity

0:23

to get out of the work environment

0:26

and come be a part of those who share both

0:29

technical background

0:30

as well as leadership challenges,

0:32

and to grow as a leader in an environment

0:34

that's nurturing and supportive.

0:35

The opportunity to go back

0:36

and make an impact in your organization.

0:38

I think TMP will help me be a better leader,

0:41

more effective with my team,

0:42

and I think

0:43

it'll help me really prioritize

0:45

what's important in my life and career.

0:48

So what we're really trying to do

0:50

is get leaders to think differently

0:52

about how they're engaging with their employees,

0:55

to start bringing

0:56

in those incremental changes over time.

0:58

So I often remind them that even small steps

1:01

in the right direction make very big impact.

1:03

A lot of the skills that we learn here,

1:05

they are collaboration skills.

1:06

We live in a world where we’re collaborating.

1:08

We need all the different perspectives.

1:11

We need all the different skill

1:12

sets in order to to create things.

1:15

It's better for everyone to have more

1:18

of that collaboration, more of that understanding.

1:21

So I think anybody, anybody would benefit

1:25

from this kind of course.

1:27

The classes are really grounded

1:28

in emotional intelligence,

1:30

that it is the core strength

1:32

that every manager’s required to have.

1:34

And if you can just build on that

1:36

and you can help your team build on that,

1:38

you're really creating

1:40

a place where everyone can succeed.

1:42

Someone realizes that you can use a technique,

1:45

just this methodology,

1:46

this simple little thing,

1:48

and it makes all the difference.

1:50

At the end of the week,

1:51

they have a complete action plan

1:53

to take back and implement

1:54

everything that they learned.

1:55

We want the student to take away

1:57

what are they going to do on Monday

1:58

to make their life better?

2:00

What are they going

2:00

to do Monday to be more happy as a manager?

2:02

One of the first things that I want to do

2:04

is go to the people that I work

2:06

for, that I work with, that I help supervise

2:08

and ask them,

2:09

“What do I do that helps empower you to do your job?

2:12

And what do I do that gets in the way?”

2:14

Well, I hope that they go back

2:15

and look at their teams in a new way as people

2:18

as complex as themselves. What is it

2:21

that you don't know about them that you could know,

2:23

and how would that impact your approach to them?

2:25

What I love about the diversity of the students

2:28

that we get

2:29

to really get an opportunity

2:30

to reach them at wherever they are in their career,

2:33

and really help

2:34

orient them in ways

2:35

that can make them more successful,

2:37

help them

2:37

achieve their career

2:38

goals, and create teams

2:40

that are feeling better about the work

2:42

that they do, are able to thrive

2:44

and then achieve their own professional goals

2:46

in the process.

2:47

The instructors are all amazing

2:49

and they all bring a lot of value.

2:51

I've loved the Signs of Excellence with Bob Bauer.

2:54

I've really resonated

2:55

with everything

2:56

that Kim Jones has said in her inclusion class.

2:59

Cultural analysis with card games is a blast.

3:02

Knowing that I can help them be more effective,

3:05

help them work smarter, not harder.

3:07

That's what puts a smile on my face.

3:10

There's nothing harder than managing people.

3:13

And so to see that is something

3:14

they can be fascinated

3:15

about rather than frustrated with.

3:17

People look at where they are now

3:19

and where they want to be in the future.

3:21

It's just the best place to teach them

3:22

and the best place to learn.

3:24

What's great about this

3:25

program is people come as they are

3:28

and they emerge being their very best self.
